The Beginner's Cardio Guide To Burn Fat And Get Abs Fast

I decided to provide you with the complete beginner's guide to cardio for a number of reasons.

First, many people start out with their cardio workouts wrong and end up losing out on results they could be getting, and therefore they don't reach their fitness goals as fast as they possibly could be.

Secondly, I feel that no one really explains where to start out as a beginner with cardio and how to progress with their improving bodies to promote ultimate fat loss.

And lastly, there are key tips to proper cardio that no one seems to understand, including experts, and I wanted to clarify most of this and explain the importance of these cardio "secrets."

All I want is to help you reach your true fitness goals and to help you burn fat permanently and dynamically through effective cardio. If you never knew where to start with cardio or you're looking for tips and secrets on how to improve your results, this is the guide for you, so pay very careful attention because this is where you'll start burning fat.

Never Start A cardio Session Without Stretching

What I tend to see with a lot of new beginners starting out looking to drop weight fast with cardio, is that they completely neglect stretching and jump right into their sessions.

This is a big mistake and you miss out on tons of results while increasing the chance of injury, which is bad if you want to stay committed to your workouts.

If you really want to get the most out of your cardio and promote fast calorie-burning, you need to simply take 5-7 extra minutes to stretch out and warm up your muscles prior to your cardio.

By doing this, you reduce any risk of injury, maximize your body's ability to perform longer and harder, and you prepare your body's natural fat burning processes and increase your metabolic rate prior to exercising.

The other thing is that you should stretch out 5-7 minutes after your cardio and cool down your muscles.

This helps them recover faster from what they were put through, naturally improves your body's ability to deal with excess weight, and you relieve the stress from your body which prevents muscle spasms and cramps after sessions.

So if there's one thing I'd like to stress, it's to stretch out as a beginner and never think your actual cardio is more important to burning fat than your stretching.

They're both equal and you won't get awesome results when you do one and not the other.

Increase Your Flexibility And Perform Flexibility Exercises

On the days that you don't perform cardio, or even the morning prior to your cardio workout, you should spend some extra time doing some flexibility training.

Most everyone (including myself) neglects flexibility and only focuses on muscle building and weight loss, which isn't bad, but it puts them at risk later in their life as they get older.

Flexibility is absolutely key to just being able to live healthy and long and is especially important for promoting faster weight loss.

The key to real weight loss is to constantly find ways to improve your metabolic processes and calorie burning, and one of those ways is by improving flexibility.

I suggest you get your flexibility up by performing 5-7 minutes of powerful exercises whenever you have time.

By doing this, you'll see that you can go longer with your cardio, burn more calories, and your body will be able to accomplish so much more than if you didn't have proper flexibility.

So, go out and take a gymnastics class or something, as long as you do something to increase your body's natural flexibility. There are so many flexibility exercises, but you just have to find the ones that work.

Start Off Slow And Progress To High Intensity Intervals

One of the most prominent problems with many individuals is their impatience. This includes me especially, because I don't want to wait to get results, I want to do anything and take any magic pill I can to get Ultimate Fitness Results.

However, life just doesn't happen like that and you can't just expect to lose 50 pounds of excess fat in one day and build a toned, muscular body within a week.

Anyone that tells you that is possible is just lying to you, and I don't want to fill your head with lies.

I want to give you the straight facts and let you know that it does take time to progress into hard cardio in order to lose massive amounts of weight, and it does take your dedication and commitment to get to that point one day.

I'm not saying it's impossible, but I am saying that you can't jump straight into cardio and run 5 miles with a 40 lb. weight vest on for your first day.

You have to slowly introduce your body into much harder work in order to burn more fat, but as a beginner you're going to have to start off slow.

For example, if you've been lazy for the past few years and rarely get off the couch, then it may be a good idea to start off with some slow, steady jump roping in order to get your body into the habit of working hard again to burn calories.

On the other hand, if you have some small ounce of physical activity that you perform on a daily basis like play basketball for an hour at your local gym, then you may be able to progress past the "beginner" stage and move into something a little more challenging.

All I'm saying is that you have to listen to your body and study yourself to know what your body can handle, and what you're going to slowly work up to.

I will say this though, once you work up to extremely high interval training and begin burning insane amounts of calories for weight loss, you'll see a dramatic increase in your results.

However, you have to be smart for now, start off slow and take those few weeks of getting your body used to hard work through cardio.

Yes, the awesome results won't be instant, but the way you're going to get amazing weight loss results is by slowly working your way up there.

No one said achieving your fat loss goal was easy, but it can be much easier if you do it right by starting off slow and eventually working up to harder cardio sessions. Trust me, this is when I learned how to be patient and the reward for patience is Ultimate Results.

And finally, If you're looking for the absolute best tips for how to get six pack abs then I highly recommend you download my free eBooks which show you how to get six pack abs naturally with awesome secrets that truly work.

Beginner's Guide To Running For Fitness And Weight Loss

Running is one of my favorite ways to get fit. It can become quite addictive as you strive to improve your times and if you stick at it you'll find yourself looking forward to your jog. Its main benefit is to the heart and lungs which will do you the world of good but your lower body will get a tremendous work out as well. A good pair of trainers and some comfortable clothes is all you will need.

There are a number of reasons why you might want to take up running. For a start it burns up a lot of calories. About 600 calories an hour seems average but if your overweight then you may burn considerably more as your having to work harder. You will notice that you feel refreshed and positive after a run and less stressed.

You should seek expert advice before starting any strenuous exercise. The main thing is to start of slowly in order to give your body time to adapt and if you have not exercised in some time it is a good idea to do a few weeks of hiking or walking. See my article on walking for fitness and weight loss. Then you can try some short bursts of jogging in your walk such as 2 minutes running and 5 minutes of walking. Try to increase the duration of the running whilst reducing the walking time. You will experience rapid gains at this stage and it wont be long before you are able to run for several miles.

Its best to mix up your running routine by running different courses and different distances. This will keep things interesting mentally and offer you a different challenge. When running try to keep your neck and shoulders relaxed and keep your torso straight and upright whilst engaging your stomach muscles. Try to land the feet gracefully not stomping. Most people will land on the heel and roll onto the toe and push off. Other runners will land more on the middle of the foot which may allow you to run more efficiently. Remember to stay nice and relaxed as you will achieve greater speed with less effort.

Remember to stretch out thoroughly after every run or you will lose flexibility and suffer very saw stiff muscles. You will most likely suffer some form of injury when you start running especially if you rush in to quickly. You should seek expert advice on injuries and stop training. Some common problems are shin splints, bad knees or sore hips. Good trainers will help and you can go to a good sports shop for advice when buying trainers. You should not run with shin splints as you can develop a stress fracture and should wait for them to heal.

As with walking I recommend that you perform a couple of sessions a week of resistance training. This will give you a more rounded development and will help with your running as you will have more strength.

Top 10 Mistakes Jogging Beginners Make

Most people think that jogging properly can be achieved just by following common sense. This is a list of top 10 mistakes almost all jogging beginners make and a list of proven techniques to avoid them!

#1 Running Too Fast

This is perhaps the most commonly seen mistake among all jogging beginners. Jogging is not about intensity, jogging is about endurance - and your understanding of this fact can literally "make you" or "break you".

Most people, when they first start jogging, run much faster than they should... When in fact, they should only be running at around 75% of their maximum heart rate.

For an average person in their 30s, an ideal jogging pace would equal to approximately 150 BPM - no more! There's a simple formula to calculate the pace at which you ought to be running (unless you have medical issues, in which case you should always consult with your doctor).

Ideal jogging pulse = (220-your age) X 0.75 BPM (heart beats per minute)

The number you get from this formula represents your ideal pulse for jogging. Always tend to adjust your speed so that it meets the desired pulse ratio.

#2 Not Running Enough

When people don't jog at the right pace (usually too fast), they get exhausted very soon and quit running way too early for any significant effects to take place.

As you may already know, the fat burning process reaches its peak after 20-30 minutes of jogging. Those are the minutes that make all the difference!

You can compare this to weight lifting - it is that last rep that really forces your muscles to grow. The way to avoid this mistake is to run slowly enough (especially if you're a beginner), and your body will soon adjust to run faster and faster, with each jog you take.

#3 Having Too High Expectations

Setting too high expectations of yourself will not only break your spirit, but it will also kill your motivation for jogging. If you're a beginner and you're out of shape, don't set a goal to go jogging for a full hour... Instead, carefully examine your current condition and adjust to it.

You may start by jogging for 5 minutes, and then walking for 5, until you reach 30 minutes in total. This way, you can gradually increase the time spent jogging and decrease the time spent walking until you are able to run for 30 minutes straight.

#4 Not Having The Proper Shoes

Having the proper running shoes is really, really important. With proper running shoes, your jogging sessions will feel more enjoyable and you will look forward to jogging.

On the other hand, by not having the proper running shoes, you will experience constant aches and pains in your feet, possibly even serious injuries which will almost certainly lead to loss of motivation and eventually quitting jogging altogether.

#5 Not Tracking Your Progress

Whether your goal is to lose weight, have more energy, release stress or simply build stamina - you should always track your progress!

There's a strong psychological reason for this. When you track your progress, you become totally focused on your jogging performance.

This has a significant imprint on your subconscious mind and helps you achieve better results. After each run, jot down specific details like the duration and mileage run, as well as how you felt during the run.

#6 Focusing On The Wrong Things

If you could look through the eyes of an average jogging beginner, you would see his/her stopwatch 90% of the time. This is because most beginners are so anxious to complete the session, that they rarely even enjoy the process... This is a recipe for failure.

If you can't keep your eyes off the watch, try listening to music while you jog. Music is a great way to distract yourself from reality and your jogging sessions will pass much more quickly.

#7 Not Hydrating Properly

Hydration is very important. However, it is pretty inconvenient to carry a bottle in your hand while you're jogging, isn't it? This is the exact reason why most jogging beginners neglect hydration while they run.

They do it afterwards, which is fine, but researchers have shown that hydration during physical activities can prolong and strengthen your ability to do the exercise. Try buying a belt with a bottle holder, a great little invention which will make your life much easier!

#8 Wrong Breathing Technique

You would be amazed at how much of a difference proper breathing can make. Most beginners don't know how to breathe properly...

Should you inhale through your nose or through your mouth? What about exhaling? What if you're exhausted? The answer is, you should inhale and exhale both through your nose and your mouth.

You may have heard that you should always inhale through your nose, but this is not true with jogging. You simply can't get enough air that way. And this is an "aerobic" exercise after all - your body needs the oxygen.

#9 Wrong Running Technique

If you're experiencing pain while you're running, chances are your running technique is flawed. First, you should make sure you're always looking ahead, never down.

Secondly, make sure you are landing on the middle of your foot, avoid landing on your toes or your heels. Thirdly, keep your posterior straight so your spine doesn't suffer.

#10 Making Excuses For Not Jogging

New joggers often find themselves procrastinating over a (what they believe to be) "legitimate" reason. The number one excuse is certainly not finding the time.

If you can't find 30 minutes daily to give your body the best gift you could give, then you simply do not care about it. Truth is, you CAN ALWAYS find the time if you want to. Why not wake up 30 minutes earlier and use that time for jogging? Most of us sleep way too much anyway...
